Program Outline

Your day will start with a relaxed personal consultation to explore what you would like to achieve from your experience in the studio. Gentle music, simple tai chi-inspired movements, and relaxation will open your senses and prepare the space for creativity to flow.

Harriette will provide you with a full palette of color and art materials and explain how you can use them. She will then guide you in exploring the beauty and challenge of your painting. As music surrounds you, evoking new colors and images, you will be filled with inspiration while a fresh perspective of who you are emerges.

As you push and pull line and color, your personal marks will take shape, stories will unfold, and dreams and hopes will come to the surface. The joy and excitement of self-expression will give you the courage to move beyond your boundaries. What you produce will surprise and delight you.

“We fondly remember the multimedia program that you created for our fundraiser called Art is happening.

It was a wonderful event! Many families participated in the painting and music collaboration. We have many pictures of families tracing and painting each other, dancing together, and having great fun. There was a joyous freedom of expression in all that they did. People talked about what a wonderful experience they had had for a long time afterward. Thank you for all your effort.”

—Teri Hackler, La Casita Preschool

“When I work with Harriette I feel like we are in the movie, Harold and Maude– it’s not that she’s that old, it’s that she’s so cool and free!”

—Alex, age 16

"After a morning in Ms. Joffe’s studio, I couldn’t recall how to mix my colors, but I understood a little more about how I express myself through my creativity."

—Jeffrey Sumber, Director of Creative Counseling of New Mexico

“I am in awe of the

ongoing cycle of life.

I am but one small part of it,

and it is wonderful to be

a part of the universal circle.”
